For users under extreme conditions: If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at our online store or any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.
*A zip tie as shown below can be applied for additional safety and security. Zip ties can be purchased at any hardware store and will securely keep the lever closed in the locked position at all times. The zip tie can be easily cut and removed when you need to change oil.

This is good , it gives you extra security if you do any kind of off roading or anything other than flat pavement.

A very good way to positively lock the oil drain valve from opening with the oil in the engine yet!

Love the drain valve, clip works.

Needing a tool to remove is okay because the whole purpose of the valve, for me, is to avoid oil cleanup.

I am 99% sure I would be fine without this.
But knowing my grandkid has my genes, who knows where my truck or his grandmas SUV might be driven...

This defeats the purpose of the drain valve. It is hard to install and remove and you need a tool to do it.
From OilDrainValve.net;
A plastic zip tie can be applied for additional safety and security. Zip ties can be purchased at any hardware store and will securely keep the lever closed in the locked position at all times. The zip tie can be easily cut and removed when you need to change oil.

When I ordered the clip, I thought that it would fit tight over the plastic hose that I purchased to fit over the end of the extended valve. It was too large and I could not use it.
